Review: Premier Lounge Bali

If you’ve been keeping up with us then you already Bali was one place my mom had always dreamt of visiting, and my dad and I were able to pull off a mega surprise with Mandapa and the Conrad.  As sad as we were to leave Bali…it was onward, ho! Where would we be heading next? While we waited for our flight I checked out the The Premier lounge.  It’s on the same level as the Garuda Indonesia Business Class lounge. Both are accessible via a very small elevator that takes you from duty free to the 2nd floor overlooking John Hardy’s shop. The Premier lounge feels fairly new, and the food options are pretty decent. There’s no comparison to the Garuda Indonesia Business Class lounge…it’s way better.

a room with a large group of people

The Deets:

  • When: April 2017
  • Where: Bali ( DPS )
  • How: Priority Pass
  • Who Else: The list is long….a group of signs with logos

Seating:

The lounge is comprised of one large general area with food, bar, etc  with an additional seating outside overlooking duty free.  In the back, there is a separate children’s area.

Food and drink:

The food was quite good. There are regional options as well as some western dishes for those less daring. I enjoyed a couple of buffet style options, but there was also a cook preparing “specials of the day”

Overall:

Had I known the disparity between this and the Garuda Indonesia Business Class Lougne I’d have brought my parents here. They weren’t really hungry and ultimately were just interested in sitting down and having a coke so they didn’t accompany to the Premer Lounge. I was in and out under 15 minutes, but if I were to come back through DPS…this is the lounge I’d choose.

You don’t have to stop here. Check out how we paid $5k and took a $125k Surprise trip Around The World to celebrate my Mom’s 75th

I’ve been to this lounge multiple times and also think it is mediocre.

When I went there last year I didn’t eat anything, I just sat in the chair. Last month when I went to this lounge I just got a drink and also saw a small cockroach near the food. When I go to Bali next year I’m just going to skip the lounge and just eat at one of the restaurants for a far better selection of food and pay for it.

When I traveled on Garuda Business Class a few months ago I didn’t bother to go to the lounge and went straight to one of the restaurants.

‘Fried Rice’ often refers to chinese/oriental fried rice. Indonesian style often simply refers to as Nasi Goreng.

I’ve both read blogger reviews and been to this lounge myself, and was not hugely impressed. Prior bloggers seem to feel the same. My wife saw 2 roaches the first time, it’s been crowded every time, and the food seems so-so. On the other hand, if it’s actually a step up from the Garuda lounge, I’m glad we stuck with what we had. Thanks for the heads up.

Christian – Yikes, 2 roaches?! It was crowded when I was there as well. Admittedly I was only in the lounge for probably 10 mins as I just wanted to check it out, and had a small plate of food. Neither it nor the Garuda Biz are anything to write home about, but if I were going back…I’d choose it over Garuda
