Business Extra promotion: Earn double points + 250 bonus points on select routes

Got an email today with an easy way to earn valuable American Airlines Business Extra bonus points. If you’re unfamiliar with Business Extra it’s a parallel program for small businesses that earns one Business Extra point for every $5 you or your employees spend.  It’s completely separate from your Aadvantage account and has it’s own set of redemptions and you can earn both sets of points on one flight.  This new Business Extra promotion earns double points when you fly nonstop between North America and London, Madrid, Paris or Zurich. Additionally, if you’re flying on select routes you can earn a bonus 250 points for each flight. As you’ll see we have not just one Business Extra promotion, not 2, but 3!!!!!! Stacks on stacks on stacks.

Valid on Nonstop flights between North American and London, Madrid, Paris, or Zurich

*A $2000 roundtrip from SJC and LHR would net this many points:

  • 1 point per $5 = 400
  • double bonus = 400
  • 250 bonus *2 = 500

Total = 1400 bonus points or enough points to upgrade you roundtrip from NY to JFK into lie-flat business. BYAH!

Here are the terms on conditions

  • Use code AJB2Q17
  • Fly on certain AA, BA, Iberia stock fares and certain codeshare flights operated by FinnAir but on AA stock
    • AA ( 001 )
    • BA ( 125 )

Use 650 Business Extra points to get transcontinental upgrades to A321T lie-flat business.

AA A321T Business Class JFK-LAX - 2 of 30

There is another Business Extra promotion running right now that earns you a bonus 650 points after first flight. I’m under the impression all three of these promotions can be stacked.

AA’s Business Extra promotion offers free upgrade after one flight

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.
