How I got €600 for a delayed flight

Roughly a month ago, I took a flight from LAX-LHR in British Airways Club World. It was my first time on an A380 and it was almost too quiet! However, I wasn’t even supposed to be on that flight and my original flight got cancelled and rescheduled a day later. It worked out extremely well as the rescheduled flight netted me a full fare business class ticket ( J ) that earned 3x EQM and I still got to London on time to see the Colts game. On top of that, since it was delayed more than 3 hours, it made me a candidate for delayed flight compensation. I contacted Flight-delayed.com to make a claim and it was INCRED! This is How I got €600 for a delayed flight.

What is Flight-Delayed.com?

The nuts and bolts is that they get you compensation for your delayed flights. They don’t charge unless they win, and if they do…they collect 25%. My experience was SUPER simple and took literally 10-15 minutes, collectively, to do everything needed.

I completed the initial steps while in line for security – that’s how quick it was. I then received this letter

I then filled out a Power of Attorney Form and received the following email:

I have to say…I wasn’t the most optimistic, but there isn’t much to lose. No upfront money, and they collect their 25% only when they win.

THEN BAM BAM BAM BAM – I got €600 for my delayed flight!

Now of course, I ended up only netting €450 ( or roughly $500), but that is incred!!!!

I would highly recommend using flight-delayed.com – BYAW

You could have claimed directly from the airline. All have pages on their websites to do this self-service. I would never recommend using a service that takes 25% of the compensation, it’s daylight robbery.

Hey Gareth – thanks for reading. You’re totally correct – you can do it on your own. But, just changing tickets with BA can equate to 45 mins holds over the phone. Thinking of having to go through all the rank and file to get a claim paid just wasn’t worth it to me. To each their own, but I felt for 10 mins time spent giving them my info was well worth giving flight-delayed a cut. Made it completely hassle free on my end.
