Review: Cathay Pacific’s The Wing Lounge + Cabanas

After about 15 minutes in the business class lounge downstairs Miles looked over and saw a couple people queueing up for The Wing upstairs. WHAT?! We will not be beat to the cabanas! I asked mom and dad to gather their things and join me in line…that what lie on the other side was worth queueing up for. I grabbed a spot and they joined shortly after. It opens at 5:30 am, and right at 5:30 the elevator opened to carry people upstairs. Well..I could see the look in a couple guys’ eyes that they were after Cabanas so Miles hopped in my backpack, I slung it over my shoulder, grabbed my carryon roller and BOLTED up the stairs. I got upstairs before the elevator arrived, flashed my boarding pass, and went straight to the back of The Wing and SCORE!!!!! was able to reserve a Cabana. Oh how suite life is. Please…come along and enjoy a peek at Cathay Pacific’s The Wing Lounge + Cabanas!

The three most impressive aspects of The Wing:

  • Private, sit down, wait-staffed dining room
  • The Cabana shower suites
  • Openness combined with the quality and beauty of the finishes.

The Deets:

  • When: April 2017
  • Where: Hong Kong ( HKG )
  • Access: First Class Ticket
    • One World Emerald

You can enter two ways.

How I entered…downstairs. Or you can enter on the 2nd floor where the lounge is located.

The lounge has GORGEOUS seating areas. Jaws dropped. Eyes Wide. Neck on rotate.

How is this a lounge? It looks like an incredible night club.

Care to get your buffet down in public? The Wing has you covered.

The food looked absolutely incredible, fresh, and was tended to by two staff members.

Private dining area more your style? You can order from a menu…or get your private buffet one too

No one was really that hungry, but my mom and I went to have AT LEAST A TASTE! I mean…how can you not give this place a gander. Our mouths were already agape, might as well use the space to fill our bellies 😉

There is also a champagne bar. When you’ve flown for nearly 15 hours it really does feel like it’s 5pm somewhere 😉

Now for THE MOST IMPRESSIVE part of The Wing: THE CABANAS

THIS IS WHY I B-LINED into the lounge! These things go fast! I wanted to make sure we had one 🙂

a bathroom with a large mirror

These are drop dead gorgeous MEGA shower suites. Private bathtubs, lounge chairs, closet, toilet, and rain shower. It doesn’t stop there…you have a private vanity, amenity kits, and if need be…an ironing service.

The best part of the whole experience…my Dad wasn’t planning on showering. Then he saw the Cabanas…more towels, please!

And, as if this experience could be any more lavish…they offer an ironing service. B-YAH!

Overall:

This is a drop dead, gorgeous lounge. It’s WELL WORTH budgeting in a long layover in Hong Kong or arriving early, and making sure you get in a cabana. I’m so so so so happy we were able to reserve one, and that it was alluring enough for my dad to completely change up  his game plan because of its sheer baller vibe.  This is my mom’s trip though, and she couldn’t believe things like this even existed. THAT’S a GOOD SIGN that the trip is starting off on the right foot.

Wanna see a quick video of the Cabana?
