Hyatt Place London Heathrow

I love weekend trips. Adrenaline. Love. Dancing. Flying halfway around the world for a couple of days may seem crazy, but I HIGHLY recommend it.  Whether its a wedding, or a family reunion in this case, it’s always filled with great memories.

It’s also a great excuse to try out new premium cabins –  I flew into Manchester on Singapore Airlines 5th freedom route from Houston to Manchester on their A350-900 in business class. We would by flying out super early the next day we opted to stay at the airport. Both the Hilton Garden Inn and the Sofitel were crazy expensive so we decided to revisit the Hyatt Place London Heathrow.

On my last visit, I made the mistake of assuming there would be a shuttle – Heathrow has a ban on shuttles. That was an expensive taxi ride to the airport. So instead of making that mistake again, we parked our Sixt car in the garage and returned it the next morning. You could also, as a commenter pointed out, take a bus to the airport for a nominal fee.

Check-in

I currently hold Explorist status which was acknowledged. The perk? 2 free water bottles in the room and a runway view room.

The room

The room is very comfortable featuring a large tv, desk area, small sitting area, and views of Heathrow airport.

Our room had funky storage area that was two part: One was an open closet, and then the other was around the corner featuring a coffee station, towels, safe, mini fridge.

Bathroom

The bathroom was small, but well done, clean, and had a full tub. The only thing, and watch out for this, is the door is quite wonky and unfortunately meant it was hard to keep water in the shower when bathing.  We had to use a towels to mop up the water that escaped.

Restaurant and Bar

When we checked in, this area was absolutely packed. In the morning of our departure it was a ghost town and perfect for a quick snap.

I thought the common spaces were well designed and people were definitely making use of the bar at night.

Overall

I really enjoyed the Hyatt Place and we were able to lock in a rate of 5000 World of Hyatt points. A great deal when the hotel wanted nearly 150 pounds for the night.

Would I stay here again? Yep, and did.

Taking a wild guess that the ban on hotel shuttles at Heathrow is why the hotel doesn’t have one.

What it does have is a bus stop literally outside the hotel which will take you to airport for £1.50 or so, every 5 minutes or so.

Great point! Updated and honestly, no need to be snarky, we all make oversights.
