Amex announces new Centurion lounges in Hong Kong and Philadelphia

According to Forbes, American Express is opening two new Centurion lounges in Hong Kong and Philadelphia. If you aren’t familiar with Amex’s line of Centurion Lounges they are accessible free of charge by Platinum and Centurion ( Black Card) cardholders. I have to say that I’ve really enjoyed my time spent at the Centurion lounges in Miami, SFO, and Dallas.

Here is the current line-up of Centurion Lounges:

There is a pop lounge currently at LAX and Amex has intimated the real lounge should be open sooner than later…

Here are the details from Forbes:

Today Amex announced the addition of two new locations, including the first ever built from scratch international Centurion Lounge, in Terminal 1 of the Hong Kong International Airport. The other will be in Terminal A West of the Philadelphia International Airport, and both are scheduled for the third quarter of this year. In the coming months, the existing Seattle-Tacoma International Airport lounge, which was the smallest, will be significantly expanded.

  • The Hong Kong lounge will measure roughly 8000 sqft
  • Philly will measure roughly 6300 sqft

Additionally Larry Olmsted, who penned the Forbes article details some info on the Seattle lounge as well

Seattle has also seen significant growth as a destination for premium card members, with a twelve percent past year increase. The lounge, which was a special mini-version of the concept without showers and some of the other amenities, will be expanded by about 50% and upgraded to full size standards, with a new bar, private shower suite, expanded seating and more.

I live and work and commute out of Philadelphia so I am going to be the AMEX Plat and probably drop the Prestige card in August of this year, I have the Ritz card so I might use the 300 dollar credit to off set the cost of AA Lounge memebership, if I cant get AA lounge memebership someother way

Allen – try incognito…75k amex plat offers are popping up. I’d look at Citi Exec for Admirals especially if you haven’t had a citi aa card in the last 24 months
