Yes, you read that right.

Looking to fly like a rockstar, but get a damn good deal? This may be the time to pony up those taxes and fees ( $500 ), and fly Virgin Atlantic Upper Class for just 37k Amex points. How? By using great rates on Virgin’s own chart and teaming that with an amazing Amex transfer bonus.

American Express is currently offering a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic. While there’s been much fanfare about using Virgin to access ANA First Class roundtrip for 85k points, or Delta Suites for 39k,  we’d be remiss not to mention using Virgin points to fly on Virgin itself. It is arguably the coolest and sexiest way to fly across the pond…and their lounge is pretty epic too.

The Math: 37k * 1.3 = 48,100.

Here’s a look at a 5 week calendar from JFK to LHR – just an example. Look at all those 47.5 dates. Yes fees are high…but points are looooooooow. Compare with Delta ( 75k one way )

Miles, no mention of what the actual taxes and fee amount is (only in graphic)?

I think it’s actually writing ( and highlighting ) in the post what that sum is. It’s material to the redemption .

Don’t forget to take the airplane shaped salt and pepper shakers. I didn’t know this was acceptable when I flew, somebody swipe me an extra set:D

You conveniently ignored the $527 fuel surcharge, lol
