April Flying Blue Promo Rewards
Over the past year, Flying Blue has become one of my favorite, and most used programs. They recently announced that they were overhauling their award, dropping saver business class down to 50k between the US and Europe, and we’ve those prices impacted with their monthly Promo Rewards; however, not this month. April is targeting Economy and Premium Economy, and Montreal in business class.

The prices you see below are between select destinations and Europe. So you’ll find different prices depending on where you finish/start your trip, but unfortunately the only biz i’m seeing is out of Montreal
What are Air France/ KLM Flying Blue Promo Rewards?
Flying Blue Promo rewards offer discounts on select routes across an array of booking classes to/from Europe. They have to booked in the month they debut, but can be booked often times several months into the future.

How to populate the full calendar

You can do this by just leaving the travel dates empty when you search.
You may have some Air France/KLM Flying Blue Miles and not realize it
Flying Blue is a transfer partner of 6 different transferrable point currencies and are some of the easiest miles to accrue as a result.

Great uses of Air France/KLM Flying Blue Miles
Air France Business Class
There are many great uses, but in particular redeeming miles for Air France business class is a wonderful use. Normal rates begin at 53k miles – this is a super competitive rate, but keep in mind a couple hundred in taxes and fees will also apply
Virgin Atlantic Upper Class
Starting as low as 61,500 miles and a couple hundred in taxes and fees its a great way to fly on a super cool product and pay fewer taxes and fees than Virgin Atlantic would charge
KLM Business Class
KLM offers world class service and a great business class – keep your eye out for the planes that offer reverse herringbone 1-2-1 configuration ( primarily the 787-9 ). I’ve flown both it and the 777-300ER and they are world’s apart in comfort…make sure you find the 787-9

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Supporting Cast:
Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.
