Review: SkyTeam Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 4
I had quite a bit of time to kill. I had just arrived from Los Angeles on a wonderful flight aboard American’s 777-300ER in business class and had booked a separate ticket to Rome. The way the ticketing was booked I couldn’t amend the American reservation and therefore needed to book a separate itinerary that could conjoin the LAX-LHR r/t. I debated back and forth which airlines to choose and whether or not to use points. Thankfully the SkyTeam Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 4 made that layover much easier.
I ultimately made the decision to fly Alitalia roundtrip instead of BA. I may come to regret the decision at the end of the year cause it maybe close on Exec Plat qualification, but the biggest reason was price and time. It also had a much shorter layover for me and got me in just in time to surprise my mom at the Rome airport!Alitalia was offering a business class outbound for only 20 Euro more than their economy fare: that’s less than a baggage fee. I also thought it’d be a good way to check out the intra-Europe product and also it would earn me more miles with Delta.
Terminal 4 SkyTeam lounge is fairly close to security. Just turn left and you’re there in few minutes.

I must have been jetlagged cause I handed the desk clerk my boarding pass and my priority pass card.
She just looked at me. Sir, you don’t need to give me your priority pass…you’re business class. DUH! What was I thinking?! Miles ran and hid in the foliage out of embarrassment. This didn’t last long tho, as he wanted more pics taken.

I perused this level of the lounge and even took a shower, but I preferred the upstairs lounge area.

Lemme tell you…the Food was sparse when I first arrived.
Great bar area. They had a lot of wine offerings and a respectable business class selection of liquor
They then put out a partial selection
There was definitely enough seats, but we had to explore more!
So we went to the massage chairs and met the loveliest lady who showed us to the showers
It was the poshest of showers but the heat and pressure were fine and it was very clean. The staff could not have been nicer it was refreshing to take a hot shower after a long-haul. We then headed out to explore some more.

The food sitch had either been taken care of while we showered, or was just better upstairs.
The Verdict
The lounge was nice. It’s not the most amazing lounge you’ll ever go to, but it provided refuge, a shower, and some sustenance. The food was ok, the wifi worked well, and the best part is it’s a member of Priority Pass. So, even if I wasn’t flying in business class I could have entered and enjoyed this purely as a perk of that membership…which I got as a benefit of the American Express Platinum Card.
Is this someplace I’d make special time to visit. Probably not, but when airlines insist you arrive over 2.5 hours ahead of an international flight, it’s good to know I can spend that time in a nice lounge.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
