Royal Air Maroc Status Match

I just received a presser from Statusmatch.com and Royal Air Maroc that is really attractive and I’d guess many of you will be interested in taking advantage of for lounge access. Royal Air Maroc is offering a status match to most US and European airlines that aren’t associated with One World for a fee of 49 Euros.

If you’re matched, your stauts would last until 3/31/23 and could open the door to lounge access when flying in your home country if you match to Gold status. This is their mid-tier and gives you One World Sapphire vs Silver status would give you Ruby ( which could still be valuable with bag fees and seat selection).  Let’s take a look at the details:

You could access the British Airways lounge at JFK even when flying Econ across the pond with Royal Air Maroc Gold status.

If you don’t have one… create a Royal Air Maroc account

I didn’t have an account and it seems as though the system is overwhelmed. I’ll keep trying over the next days, but so far, I can’t get the system to register me. I’d guess this is a temporary glitch with so many people trying to get signed up and match.

You’ll then fill out the information the status match here

I don’t fly Royal Air Maroc…why do I care? Lounge access

Royal Air Maroc is a member airline of One World ( American, Alaska, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Qatar, etc. ) Whenever you’re traveling in a country that isn’t the member airlines homebase ( Morocco in this case ), you can access lounges in the country you are traveling in. So, let’s say you’re based in the US and had top tier Royal Air Maroc status you could access American Airlines Flagship lounges even when flying in economy. Same goes in Europe when you’re flying BA, you could access the business and first class lounges even when flying economy.

One World Ruby and Sapphire benefits

Depending on how often you fly and whether you already have these benefits will determine if paying the 49 Euros is worth it to you. If you already have status with that gives you priority boarding, seat selection, etc then Ruby isn’t going to do much. The big

The Status Match Merry go round continues to spin. I have Delta Diamond status right now as a result of an Amex + 1 targeted match. I also have American Platinum Pro as a result of a status challenge. I matched to Air Canada status and ultimately won a contest that gave me their 75k. If that wasn’t enough, I also matched to ITA Airways and have their top tier status. All but American would yield me Gold with Royal Air Maroc and open up the doors to lounge access on cheap econ tickets here in the States.

I’ll keep y’all updated on how it goes for me, and please leave me any feedback on your experience should you choose to match.

Well there you go! Good article. I had a nice ride JFK CMN on AirMarco on RTW2.0 Eastbound

I have status with two airlines. Neither on the list – AA Plat/Sapphire & SQ Gold/Gold (simply from transferring points in for redemption 🙂 ) so I’m good on United Club access flying domestic and I’m using AmEX & Venture X airline incidentals credit for Admirals Club on domestic. Other than tickets I don’t pay other airline fees. There were the extra legroom seats on JetBlue to PR nonstop earlier this month, but now AA Plat will work for that should we fly JetBlue again

I have been trying to create a Royal Air Maroc account for a week now, and I see from the article I’m not the only one having problems. I need to create one so I can get seat assignments for flights I booked through AA using points.

Anyone have the same issue and have success eventually creating the account?
