Rumor Alert! 80k Chase Sapphire Preferred® coming back March 19th ( 90k in branch ) confirmed

The rumor has been confirmed and I’ve started getting messages on social that people are able to apply in branch; however, you may need to make an appointment to avoid wait times.

I’d expect this offer to be available online shortly – in the next week or two would be my best guess

One of the messages confirming the offer:

According to Doctor of Credit, Chase sent out notifications that the Chase Sapphire Preferred offer of 80k points after $4k spend in 3 months is coming back on March 19th. This is based off of an email sent out to bankers that got leaked to DOC, and not only includes the 80k offer, but also, a potential increased 90k offer in branch that requires $6k spend  in 6 months. With this info, and DOC is as reliable as it gets, I would wait until 3/19 if you’re considering this card. H/T RWM

Either of those new offers are pretty awesome; however, they aren’t as good as the 100k offer that we saw for a bit in 2021, but hey, a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush.

Usually what happens is Chase rolls out new offers to bankers first, and then it’ll populate online quickly thereafter.  I will undoubtedly be updating this news as we learn more, but want y’all to have all the info to make a sound decision.

It really makes me wonder if Chase isn’t responding somewhat to the rumor that Citi is debuting two new cards in April, a refreshed Citi Premier and Citi Prestige ( Citi Strata ) Only time will tell.

There is currently an 80k offer after $4k spend in 3 months available in branch, and up to 90k after $6k spend in 6 months. I suspect some version of this will be online soon if you don’t want the hassle of going into a branch.

We keep an up to date spreadsheet that lists the best ever offers: You can find that spreadsheet here.

Historically 60k is a very, very good offer. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back. .

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

I literally just applied a couple weeks ago! Have you ever heard of them honoring the new offer AFTER you’ve been accepted?! 😬
