Earlier this year, American Express Business Gold updated their public offer, but…we’ve seen 80k and 90k offers populating people’s accounts. I pulled the trigger on an 80k offer several months ago, even picked up a 100k Amex Business Platinum, but another Amex Business Gold hit my account – this time for 90k!

  • I have two businesses
  • Each business has now been targeted for an Amex Business Gold offer

Here’s a look at the offer for 80k Membership Rewards after hitting $10k in minimum spend in the first 3 months of cardmembership – I was approved for this one earlier in the year.

Note that an application is still required and you can see if you’re targeted here.

Here is a look at my newest offer – I was approved for it as well that offers 90k Membership Rewards after $10k spend. I didn’t receive a pop-up notifying me that I was ineligible either.

If you’d like to read about all the perks and benefits, please see our full review which goes into detail. This post is just to make people aware that they could be targeted.

One thing to Note

American Express traditionally limits welcome offers to once in a lifetime, but these private, targeted offers, seem to circumvent these. Hopefully this holds up, but anecdotally people have had success.

Is this card right for you?

I would highly suggest reading the full review because it goes into far greater detail, but the Amex Business Gold is a workhorse for your wallet. There is a list of categories and the 2 categories from that list where you spend most in a month will receive 4x points on those purchases. The yearly cap is $150k or 450k bonus points. That is the biggest reason to get this card…points on points.

  • Airfare purchased directly from airlines
  • U.S. purchases for advertising in select media (online, TV, radio)
  • U.S. purchases made directly from select technology providers of computer hardware, software, and cloud solutions
  • U.S. purchases at gas stations
  • U.S. purchases at restaurants, including takeout and delivery
  • U.S. purchases for shipping
