Spend $1000 with AF or KLM get 20k Membership Rewards

We have seen this offer populate time and time again and….it’s back! I’m currently sitting on 10 American Express cards ( don’t ask me about annual fees at this point ) and let’s just say I get a lot of Amex Offers. This is attractive if you’re looking to book on Air France/KLM in the near future. Amex just ended a transfer bonus to FlyingBlue, and since that program levies taxes and fees, this could be a great way to offset some those with a point bonus. Let’s take a look at this current Amex Offer whereby you can earn 20k Membership Rewards after spending $1k with Air France or KLM.

I’ve been fortunate enough to fly Air France business class on two different planes as well as KLM on the 787-10 and 777W

Amex Offers and why I keep 10 Amex cards.

We have an entire post dedicated to Amex Offers, how they work, and how you can easily earn back your annual fee in statement credits or points. You can read it here.

I just added a 3rd Amex Business Platinum ( I was targeted for 150k offer ) which brings my American Express Card to a whopping 9. Here’s what I keep, why we have them in our wallet, and recommend your consideration. Amex Offers are incredibly valuable for any member and how we earn back tons of points and credit every year, but also remember that you can earn referral bonuses on each and every card you carry ( go here  ). It’s how we earn over 500k points a year without spending a dime.

Overall

Flying Blue passes on some hefty taxes and fees and this could be an opportune time to recoup some of those fees with a juicy Membership Rewards bonus.

I checked with AMEX and they are not showing that available to me. Must only be a targeted offer.

Flying Blue has some taxes and surcharges on award tickets from the U.S. to Europe, somewhere in the $300’s IIRC. Think that would trigger the offer?
