Just break up? Travel Now.

I feel ya, and believe me I’ve been there! You probably just want to sit in a dark room, cuddle your dog, and ball your eyes out to Marley and Me. Wait…maybe that was just me, and I wouldn’t suggest stealing a dog to cuddle with…the point is you feel like the world is absolutely OVER. Guess what…the sun is rising time after time after time, again and again around the world and you could be seeing it. You NEED to remind yourself of that. What’s even more important – it’s time to learn how strong, brave, and spontaneous your bad self really is!  I’m a HUGE believer that travel opens your mind, soul, and perspective on life. The biggest reasons people don’t travel is fear and money. Well…luckily you read monkeymiles and have figured out how to travel for pennies on the dollar so that’s not a problem. Now the fear part. There is no better time in your life to prove to yourself what you’re made of than during times of tragedy and loss. So did you just break up? Travel Now. Let’s look at what you could be doing instead of being miserable.

There are more than 24 time zones in the world. You could be watching the sunset in anyone of them.

Life continues on and it. is. beautiful. It’s also filled with people living, breathing, and loving. Get up in it.

I mean…

Everywhere you look you’re reminded of your ex. Gross. Change your view.

Get out of the house and that city! Get some positivity flowing and change up what you’re seeing everyday. You know what won’t make you think of that heartbreak…something that’s completely new and straight out of a magazine. Use some of those Chase Ultimate Rewards or Amex points and get to Asia. Can I suggest Sinagpore Suites?

Squad up.

You’ve probably been a bit crap with your friends anyways…you were in a relationship. Now YOU’RE FREE to do what YOU WANT, when you want. So make that long overdue trip happen. No excuses.

Blow up your Instagram with you doing you, boo. You’ll swim in double taps.

Wake up someplace you always dreamt of going and throw that enviable spot right on your Insta. You know what exes hate to see…happiness. A close 2nd is a double tap shining a bright light right on that happiness.

Like that view? Check out how I took a $20k trip for about a grand through Southeast Asia.

Remember…Pinkie’s out, bottoms up. Don’t fly like a normal person. Spend those points and lie-flat.

You’re nursing a bruised…everything. Treat yourself. Indulge.

Lufthansa First Class and China Airline are two INSANE ways to get around the world. The Best part…you can fly them for next to nothing.

Go on…Kiss a stranger in a foreign country 😉

I choose to kiss the wonders of the world. Every time it’s another first kiss 🙂 Choose something fun to start doing. Whatever it is, it’ll give your “YOU DO YOU BOO TRIP” some more purpose. Plus, it’s just fun.

Maybe you should go to Italy…it’s somewhere between amazing and stupendous.

Spend time with those you love. Make a memory you’ll never forget.

A trip you’ll never forget. A gift…you will.

Maybe you’d been REALLY consumed with a certain someone. Cord. Cut. Now’s a great time to pimp that trip out and go on a baller vacay with those that mean the most. I was lucky enough to go on a great trip ( which will be documented in detail soon) for my Mom’s birthday.

If you’re heart’s a breakin…a trip you should be makin’. I should write country music songs 😉

Get out there and see the world – some time completely off the grid may help. I loved just being away from all things techno while on the plains of Africa. Who knows…you may find someone new to take a nap with 🙂
