We’ve seen better deals, but it’s worth considering.
Over past couple of years we’ve seen American put their miles on sale every single month. So yeah…are they really ever on “sale,” – another blog. This month, we’re seeing a discount dropping the retail price down to 2 cents. Officially it’s called 10$ + up to 42.5k bonus points, but in reality, it’s just a discount for those looking to buy a few grand worth of miles. This is a fair deal, not the best – which I believe dropped miles down to 1.7 cents, but something to consider. It’s open to anyone, and if you’re in a pinch for miles, it’s worth considering to make a redemption possible.
The deal:
The best option is buying 100k miles with a 42.5k bonus. Average price of roughly $0.02
Max out the promo, but get a more expensive price per mile.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
