Earn triple BA Avios on flights until December 11
BA is running a promotion on tickets booked and flown between September 6th and December 11th where you can earn triple points. The bonus is given on every cabin and is calculated before any cabin of service bonus is given. It’s a great deal especially if you’re looking to save up some Avios for get-a-way or, as I like to use them, for positioning flights. Register here to earn triple BA Avios on flights until December 11.
Who is eligible?
- Book between September 6 and December 11
- Over 18 and reside in a participating country.
- Register for the offer
- Fly on eligible flights listed below
- Every cabin is eligible
- see terms below
Wait, every cabin is eligible?
YEP!. All cabins earn 3x Avios. The calculation is based on mileage flown, regardless of class of service or elite status. The calculation is done before any other bonuses are given so you can use milecalc.com or gcmap.com to get a good idea of how many miles you’d be flying and multiply that by 3 to see how many you’d ultimately earn.
This amount would also fly you roundtrip from Los Angeles to Cabo.
Frequently asked questions on the BA site
Should you do it?
I think that this is a great opportunity to earn some bonus points based on mileage flown. However, you should realize that if you are going for AA status, these miles will be credited to BA, and so will your elite qualifying miles. It would be great if AA would match this offer for their own program. A lot of times both BA and AA run similar offers that reward their loyalists commensurately. I don’t anticipate AA to match this offer as BA’s Executive Club is still based on distance flown whereas AA runs a revenue based program ( miles earned off the price of the ticket).
The other big thing to note is that flights on partners only qualify to very specific destinations and all of them are transatlantic destinations. So if you were thinking of crediting some domestic AA travel to BA you wouldn’t qualify to earn triple points unfortunately.
With all of this said, I’m still registering, because why not?
