Citi is offering a 30% transfer bonus to Air France/KLM Flying Blue until August 29th
Amex had a great transfer bonus that ended last month, that bonus actually straddled the FlyingBlue program change on June 1st, and now Citi has joined in on the transfer bonus fun with their Thank You program. Running until August 29th, you’ll enjoy a 30% bonus on Thank You points converted to Air France. While I think the program change on June 1st was an overall devaluation, it isn’t without its sweet spots. In fact, Air France has been a consistent program I’ve found space for larger parties with my award booking service.
Tel Aviv has been consistently pricing well: 3 people from LAX to TLV on the 77W for 61k ( just 47k with bonus)
Another city that I’ve found appealing pricing is Athens, but if you’re getting hit with high fees to Paris, try picking cities that are often cheaper for revenue fares and play around. ( Dublin, Stockholm, Tel Aviv, Athens have been cheaper in my searches)
In addition to the 77W, the 787-9 has a great cabin
Air France operates 772s, A330s, A340 and A380s as well, and while the A330s are currently being retrofit, they aren’t completely finished. If you can find the space, you’ll get their best business class on either a 777-300ER, 777-200ER ( 2 cabin ) or the 787-900.
The easiest way to tell is to check the seat map. This is the 772. If your business class has a 1-2-1 configuration as seen below…you’ll get the newer seat.
Disregard the actual seat count and focus on configuration.
