Every little bit counts right?! For the past few years, United Airlines has been offering discounted travel for college aged customers. This is no doubt in an effort to attract younger people to their loyalty program since you need to download the app and login to populate the cheaper flight. On this note, you’ll only see the discounted flights if your Mileage Plus account is in the 18 to 23 year old range. United advertises that discounts will be 5% but in practice I’ve had people comment that they see little to no discounts being applied, and some seeing big discounts when the flights are closer to departure. If you’re interested… this is what you do:
United Discounts for those 18 to 23 Details:
- Must Use United App
- Must be signed in
- Must be 18 to 23
- Must be purchased by 12/31/23
- I take this to mean you can fly next year but need to buy by then
- On United flights
- Starts at 5% on flights that Originate in US to North America

This is pretty self explanatory, log in, choose book flights, and then discounted travel. If you can save money, it’ll show up.
I did a TikTok on this that explains it as well:
