Last year it was announced that IHG was looking to acquire a true luxury brand, something a level up from their top tier Intercontinental brand, much speculation ensued, but ultimately Regent was named.  It’s very apropos.  The current Intercontinental Hong Kong, arguably IHG’s flagship property, was once the Regent Hong Kong.

I must admit it captures the best and most panoramic views of Hong Kong island, and a wonderful place to watch the nightly light show. After the acquisition, it was announced that the hotel would become the Regent Hong Kong once again. One of the questions that loomed over the acquisition was whether or not points could be used at their new flagship brand. The answer has come…we can:

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
