Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center Boston Review: Executive Suite

The Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center is ideally located near the waterfront area of Boston. It’s directly across the street from the convention center and is a great hotel not just for convention attendees, but for anyone staying in Boston. The Seaport Hotel feels newly renovated: I mean, the suite had heated bathroom floors and a tv in the mirror. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, and to be honest, it doesn’t have the normal Convention hotel vibe, which often times lacks a personal touch. This hotel made efforts to provide personal touches and the staff was very friendly. If you’re into green hotels, it’s been named one of greenest hotels in America as well. Here’s a look at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center Boston.

First Impression

The hotel is large, but doesn’t seem so once you’re actually inside. In fact, it reminds me a lot of the Ritz Carlton in St Louis. I went to school nearby and the Ritz was the fancy place in college to go to when parents were visiting. The exterior style is so so similar, and the interior design aspects have a rich, classic, yet contemporary feel.

Check In:

Easy Peasy. We arrived on a red eye and had a room booked the night before so the room was avail for us to go to directly. Everything runs smoothly. The hotel was really full as there was a convention in town and a red sox game.

The Room

Our Suite was on the 16th floor at the end of a hall and in the corner. I usually don’t have a huge preference for the location of a room, but given the load of the hotel it was nice to a have a secluded room that wouldn’t be affected by any noise.

I was impressed with how bright the room was and the technological aspects of it. I knew that the hotel would be a very solid 4 star hotel, but it’s added little touches that make it really stand out.

Bedroom

The bedroom design incorporated the tv really well without blocking too much of the light and the view.

The Bathroom

I’m not sure when this hotel was last renovated, but they did a great job. Heated floors. Check! Rain shower with multi heads. Check! TV IN THE MIRROR??!! CHECK!!!!!! I mean cahmon, I hardly wanted to get out and see Boston because of all the cool features of the room.

Posh, Posh, Posh, Gilchrist and Soames products.

They use large dispensers for the soap and conditioner to help the environment. Normally this annoys me because I love to jack all of the products, but I was compelled to appreciate the gesture and the 120,000 small plastic bottles it was saving. UGH, guilt trip.

And don’t miss anything while showering or shaving…just turn it on the tv. Not only was there a tv, but the speakers were built into the sides of the mirror. I want one. I want one. I want one. Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center Boston - 2 of 4

Ok, after I was done playing with all the gadgets and photographing everything we investigated the rest of the hotel.

Wave Health Club

Hotel guests have access to a very nice health club that otherwise is membership only. They have a regular schedule of classes, tons of cardio machines, TRX straps, free weights, a pool ( under construction ), and nautilus machines.

If you’re looking for a hotel with top notch gym facilities this would fit the bill. I’m not really sure what else you could want in a hotel gym as this really serves as a very solid stand alone gym in and of itself.

The restaurant: Tamo

There are actually 3 different dining options. Tamo, Aura, and the Bistro. The Bistro is basically a micro Starbucks and Aura is only open for breakfast. I only had the opportunity to take photos of Tamo as it is located just off of the lobby.

Common Areas

The hotel has a really nice courtyard and outdoor space off the Plaza level. It’s also a very easy way to walk across the street to the Trade center and Convention space. I didn’t have a lot of time to enjoy the courtyard, but it would be a cool spot to enjoy a drink or a snack. Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center Boston - 34 of 51 Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center Boston - 37 of 51 Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center Boston - 36 of 51

Overall

I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again. The Seaport and World Trade Center is within 10 minutes of Boston Logan, adjacent to the Harbor and all of the outdoor bars and restaurants located on it, and offers amazing amenities. There are multiple stops for hop on/hop off bus tours and the Boston Tea Party museum is a 10 minute walk. I loved the location. Are there other hotels I would fancy checking out? Sure. But, there is a reason that this hotel is rated Number #1 on Tripadvisor as it delivers in areas that I wasn’t even expecting it to serve.
