If you’re falling short on retaining your Alaska Airlines elite status…you have a little bit more time. Alaska announced a Fast Track to status for 2022 that allows current 2021 elite members the ability to retain their potentially lost status by earning varying levels of mileage by 4/30/22. This is a nice little touch, and I may even participate since I failed to retain my lowly MVP status even tho I credited enough miles to AS – I just didn’t fly 2 AS segments. Also, it’s important to point out that keeping elite status means you have no cap on purchasing miles…probably the biggest reason I’d do this since I have American Platinum Pro and One World Emerald.

Alaska Airlines Fast Track 2022

  • you need to fly at least 2 segments on Alaska
  • award flights don’t count
  • and if you’re retaining MVPG75, that fat stack of 50k miles you’d ordinarily earn upon retention aren’t included.

Terms and conditions:

2022 Fast track to status
This offer is valid only for Mileage Plan members that held MVP, MVP Gold, or MVP Gold 75K status as of January 1, 2021 that did not requalify for that same status in calendar year 2021. Members who were participating in a status match challenge on January 1, 2021 and did not retain the status are not eligible. This offer may not be used to achieve a higher status than the one held on January 1, 2021. In order to keep MVP status beyond April 30, 2022, you must earn 5,000 base miles from flights; in order to keep MVP Gold status, you must earn 10,000 base miles; and in order to keep MVP Gold 75K status, you must earn 20,000 base miles between January 1 and April 30, 2022. All eligible travel must take place between January 1 and April 30, 2022. A minimum of 2 segments must be flown on Alaska marketed and operated flights. Award travel and bonus miles are not eligible base flight miles . Gold Guest Upgrades, Lounge Day Passes, and MVP Gold 75K MVP nominations will be available after the member has met the requirement for the respective elite status. Members who receive MVP Gold 75K status as part of this offer are not eligible for the 50,000 bonus miles associated with qualifying for MVP Gold 75K status. All terms and conditions of the Mileage Plan™ program apply. Offer subject to change without notice.
