Perk! Amex Centurion Suite Staples Center
There is nothing worse than paying a fortune for crappy tickets. You’re stuck in the nosebleeds, beer spilling, nachos half in your lap, and a couple kids kicking the back of your seat. NOT THE GAME YOU DREAMT ABOUT. Well, well, well the Amex Centurion Suite Staples Center will change your night. It’s a perk that isn’t really ever discussed and is something I use every time I see a game. In fact, I haven’t been to a game in years where I didn’t use the suite instead of sitting at my seat. Why?
I always buy the cheapest possible tickets because I know I’ll end up in the suite. It doesn’t matter where you’re sitting, so buy the absolute cheapest tix you can, and then arrive early and cosy up in the suite.Whether you’re a Kings or Clippers fan, part of Laker nation, or you just want to see a game at the famed Staples Center, the American Express Centurion Suite is clutch.
*we’ve updated some terms and policies, but the overall suite is the same since our original post in 10/2016 ( 12/19)
What is the American Express Centurion Lounge Staples Center?
Per staplescenter.com
The Centurion Suite at STAPLES Center will be open for most Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Clippers home games throughout the year.
The Centurion Suite opens 90 minutes prior to the beginning of the game when general doors open, so be sure to check in as soon as possible, as space is limited. The Centurion Suite will close immediately following the conclusion of the event.
To check in you will be required to show your valid American Express Platinum or Centurion Card along with a photo ID. You will receive a wristband that will grant you access and re-entry into The Centurion Suite throughout the evening.
Platinum Card and Centurion Members are permitted up to (3) guests per Platinum or Centurion Card (subject to availability and capacity), and guests must be present upon check in.
Who can get into the Amex Centurion Lounge Staples Center?
- Platinum and Centurion cardholders
- Each cardholder can bring in 3 guests
How much does it cost?
- If you carry any version of an Amex Platinum or Centurion ( Black card ) there is no cost
What are the hours?
- The lounge opens 90 minutes before the game
- First come first serve and to capacity of the lounge
- Lounge closes immediately after the conclusion of the game
Where is it located?
- You must enter at the check-in area outside M22
- Go up two floors
What’s the vibe?
It’s pretty crowded so get there early! But, it’s great to have a place to kick it, order real food, and the prices aren’t insane. It’s also great because they have other games on the flat screens around the lounge.
What’s the food like?
- You’re gonna have bar food, sports food, gimme fries, beer, and nachos food. You can also order sushi and bbq, but we stuck to typical game day fare.
Where do I exit?
You will exit the building through the VIP exit.
My tip:
I always buy really cheap tickets and never go to my seat. The Centurion Lounge has a great view of the game, better food, better drinks, and SPACE SPACE SPACE. I’ve seen Lakers and Clippers games here and always had a great time. I would recommend getting here as early as possible because the lounge fills up very quickly.
