Every Tuesday at 2pm we publish a new YouTube video. This week we walk through the steps of how we found Qantas First Class space, why we used Alaska Miles, and how you can purchase the points to do exactly what we did. Space is very hard to come by, as we explain in the video, but it’s not impossible. In fact, my experience has been that Qantas releases a bunch of space during a small timeframe and then it disappears again. We were fortunate that this happened when Alaska had their miles on promotion with a 40% bonus, currently there is a mystery bonus ( I was targeted to get a 50% bonus ). While the lesson used Qantas as a model, the technique can be mimicked with other fantastic redemption options like Cathay First, Japan First, Fiji Biz, Aer Lingus, FinnAir, etc.
