British Airways has a great status match opportunity for those of us who live in the US or Canada ( or at least have an account registered in either country ) and even if you don’t wish to extend the status, just matching yields 6 months of British Airways elite status. The best part about this is obviously gaining lounge access via One World partners like American and Alaska. Go here for more info

  • BA Silver = One World Sapphire = Business Class Lounge access in foreign countries, ie non-UK countires
  • BA Gold = One World Emerald = First Class Lounge access in foreign countries, ie non-UK countries

This would mean that while you have BA Silver or Gold you could access American Airlines lounges while flying domestically in the US or Canada even on economy tickets. Pretty cool! For this reason alone, this is an awesome deal and worth matching so you can have it for 6 months.

  • Match by 5/7/24
  • Get status for 6 months
  • Fulfill the requirement to keep it while you have the status match ( 2 transatlantic business/first class one way flights to from UK/US/Mexico/Canada) on BA, Iberia, AA that is marketed by BA.

How long has the wait time folks have experienced. I submitted on 5/1 and again today since i have some upcoming flights and the free seat assignments/blocked seats opening is a great deal in itself along with the lounges.
