SURPRISE! Another United Flash Sale
United, historically, has had several point sales a year, but in 2018, they’ve been consistently targeting members with short-term flash sales. My best, was a 100% bonus, and now I’ve received an 85% bonus on purchasing miles. 85% is nothing to shrug at, that effectively prices miles at $0.02 which is slightly more expensive than the 100% bonus ( 1.88 cents). As always, I never recommend speculatively buying points – charts change, airlines devalue – BUT if you have a redemption in mind – this isn’t a bad deal if you redeem properly, i.e. aim at business/first class cabins where you can snag huge discounts of revenue fares.

I was targeted for 85% bonus. Good deal, but not the best ever. Roughly $0.02 a point
It’s a tiered offer and ends May 24:
If I maxed out my offer.
Some of the best redemptions are on their partners flying to Europe and Asia.
Partner Business Class to Europe for 70k, like Swiss, are both great redemptions
EVA at 80k to Asia. A First Class product at business class rates.
Or you can redeem 110k United Miles and avoid all taxes and fees that Lufthansa usually levies and fly First Class from North America to Europe. A truly special experience
Lemme know if you take advantage of the offer, and what your mystery revealed
