UGH! Not that this was a redemption I really made too much use out of, but using Virgin Atlantic miles to fly on Delta flights outside the UK and Europe have gone up. The new price increases go into affect on 12/7/23 for flights flown after 1/1/24. So , as noted by TPG, if you book in the next couple days, you’ll enjoy the lower cost basis even if you fly next year. Note this is most painful on domestic flights within the US…

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

    Unfortunate for sure but considering that Delta owns a sizeable piece of Virgin this is hardly unexpected. Delta is pretty rabidly determined to eliminate any vestige of value in any loyalty program they’re involved in.
