Earn a 15% bonus on Citi Thank You points with Citi Gold checking account and Prestige card
Citi Thank You points are a great flexible currency. I just recently applied and was approved for the Citi Prestige and have been going through all of the various benefits. There was one that stood out to me as pretty cool. Last year, I opened a Citigold checking account when they were offering a 50,000 Aadvantage bonus. In the end I closed the account because it required a $50k account balance to avoid a $30/month fee. However, my account still shows Citi Gold. That’s when I ran across this little gem that earns me a 15% bonus on Citi Thank You points.
I was reading the fine print of the Prestige Card:
What I’m hoping is that the Citi Gold account recognition will last until my 15% shows up. It looks like it is a 15% on all purchases made during the card year. So if I buy $1000 worth of flights I would earn 3000 TY points plus a 450 point bonus = 3450 TY points on a $1000. 3.45 points isn’t too shabby!
Here are some great reasons to have a Citi Thank You card in your wallet: Transfer Partners
I’ve written about the Etihad sweet spots and also how amazing Singapore Airlines can be. OMAAT recently wrote about a new route Singapore is announcing from Houston to Manchester. A great new way to get into Europe with a business class fare at under 50,000 miles.
