Head’s up Small Business Owners: This one’s for you.
American Airlines Business Extra program makes it possible for small business owners to triple dip on their business travel. You can earn credit card points, airline miles, and a third currency exclusive to small business owners: Business Extra points. I have a couple of posts dedicated to Business Extra so I won’t go into detail about the program here, but if you want to learn more about what it is and how to upgrade with it, go here. There are restrictions to fare class, so make sure you read the fine print.
This is what 650 miles can get you.
500 points may seem like a paltry amount, but Business Extra isn’t priced like normal air miles. One way upgrades start at 650 points and this includes routes like LAX to JFK where econ to business is a huge jump. This single promotion will take you 60 seconds to complete and earns you 500/650 needed for that upgrade. It’s a no brainer. In fact, certain routes operate Internationally configured planes ( like the feature pic in a 77W) and an upgrade will give you a worldclass product.
