16 airports will now allow you to finish the process with an Interview on Arrival.
If you’ve gone through the process of Global Entry you’re probably still regrowing hair you pulled out while scheduling an interview. In my particular situation I drove down to San Diego for an interview prior to a trip a few years ago, made a wrong turn, ended up in Mexico, and it turned into a right palava. Luckily, it all worked. I got my interview done, didn’t have my cavities searched, and my global entry approval cleared shortly thereafter. I wish CBP offered a Global Entry interview on arrival for conditionally approved applicants back then, it would have made the process much easier.
Per the Customs and Border patrol website:
Enrollment on Arrival is a program operated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to allow Global Entry applicants who are conditionally approved to complete their interviews upon arrival into the United States. The Enrollment on Arrival program eliminates the need for a Global Entry applicant to schedule an interview at an enrollment center to complete the application process.
When landing in an international terminal follow the signage directing you to CBP officers who can complete your Global Entry interview during your admissibility inspection. You won’t need any additional documents other than the requisite documents for international travel (e.g., your passport). After completing the process, you will be directed to a short feedback survey to help us improve this new opportunity for Global Entry applicants to Enroll on Arrival from an international trip.
If you would like to save time and effort, then join thousands of other Global Entry applicants who are conditionally approved and participate in Enrollment on Arrival.
