IHG Rewards Club improves program with fuel rewards savings
The IHG program is one that a lot of people hate on, and honestly, I can feel their pain. However, the Intercontinental exclusive Ambassador program is well worth the price of admission, the IHG credit is amazing, and I think quite a bit of value can be found in the program. I caught a headline over at Inside Flyer by Tim Winship about a new IHG fuel program and checked out their press release later in the day for the details. The long and short of it is that IHG has partnered with Shell to provide benefits to their U.S. members. Let’s take a look at how IHG has improved their program
The broad strokes:
- 5 cents off for Club and Gold
- 6 cents for Plats and all of us with the IHG credit card
- 7 cents for Spire
According to CNNmoney the average American buys 11 gallons a week. Let’s do the math
- Club and Gold $0.05 * 11 * 52 = $28.60
- Plats $0.06 * 11 * 52 = $34.32
- Spire $0.07 * 11 * 52 = $40.04
That’s not bad!
What do you need to do?
You can sign for Fuel Rewards here
It will guide you through the steps. One of them is linking a loyalty account. Select IHG
Finish the process and earn some money back! Just make sure you plug in your fuel rewards alt id or swipe your card when you buy Shell gas. I used my phone number as my alt id.
