Yesterday we learned that the Amex Rose Gold was back and the Amex Gold Uber Cash benefit was live. Today…I’ve received several heads up from readers that they had been targeted for an Amex Gold 75k Pre-qual offer. One was kind enough to send me a screencap of it. Looks like it’s similar to the public 60k offer with $4k spend over 6 months. This is a truly exceptional offer if you’ve been targeted.

As I mentioned in our full review…it’s one of the cards we use the most in our wallet. Truly amazing deal in my opinion. This is a great example to always look for the best deal you can get! We do our best to publish as many as we can, but we aren’t perfect so make sure you do your own due diligence.

We keep an up to date spreadsheet that lists the best ever offers: You can find that spreadsheet here.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex®  and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Ink Business Cash® , Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

Annual fee is quite low at $95 a year + you get a 10% anniversary bonus on points + $50 hotel credit in Chase travel.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I do not see the offer in the prequal check section. I saw it right after I signed up on their webpage, prior to making an account. Thier main page showed the 60k offer, but another page showed the 75k offer which prompted the question.

Sounds like I am SOL. I appreciate it

  • Alex February 5, 2021

If I applied for Gold and applied for the card with 60k, but haven’t received the card yet is there any way for me to get the 75k offer?

    • Miles February 5, 2021

are you seeing the prequal offer on your amex login? I would screen cap it, but otherwise Amex may offer something but they don’t usually match offers especially on something like this that is targeted

  • tina February 5, 2021

If one has placed credit freezes on Equifax etc., I assume no offers unless you unfreeze?

    • Miles February 5, 2021

      That’s a great question and I’m not 100% sure

    • CB February 5, 2021

That SHOULDN’T be an issue for the prequalified offers, those are just “hey, come apply for this card” offers (right?), vice preapproved, which are the “this card is yours if you say yes” offers.

Either way, as I understand it AMEX normally issues cards to existing cardholders w/o a hard pull – though I’m sure there are times they will do the pull. No hard pull means it doesn’t matter if you’re frozen.

      • Miles February 5, 2021

This is kind of my thinking as well, but I’m not sure you’d get prequal if your credit is frozen. the prequal is still based on a soft pull by my understanding

  • patrick February 5, 2021

That is such an awesome deal. if you’ve been thinking of getting a Gold Card, DO IT! there are no downsides. 75k is a ridiculously good offer.
