Every month certain Amex cards have credits that expire. July is no exception; however, we just passed the half way point of the year. Why is that a big deal? Well, certain Amex cards have semi-annaul credits that refresh on July 1st. Let’s take a look at how you can recoup large portions of your annual fee by doing this every month/6 months.
American Express Platinum
Every month Amex has an Uber credit of $15 ( $35 in December ) and these can be used for Uber Eats as well. However…Amex Platinum also comes with an annual $100 Saks 5th Avenue credit that is broken into two $50 credits. One is from January to June, the other from July to December ( that just refreshed ). Additionally, Amex Platinum is offering a $20 monthly mobile phone credit and streaming credit through the end of the year.
- $15 Uber Credit expiring at the end of the month
- $50 Saks 5th Credit refreshed and will expire at the end of December
- $20 Mobile Phone Credit
- $20 Streaming Credit
American Express Business Platinum
Amex Business Platinum is offering two, $200 Dell credits this year. One expired at the end of June, the other at the end of December which means you hav a fresh $200 Dell credit. Make sure you’re utilizing these credits, and if you’re unsure on what to buy – check out how we use it. Amex Business Platinum is also offering a $20 per month mobile phone credit, and $20 per month shipping credit through December.
- $200 Dell credit has refreshed an can be used until the end of December
- $20 Mobile Phone credit
- $20 shipping credit
American Express Green
American Express Green joined in on the monthly mobile credits until year end by giving cardmembers $10 a month through December.
- $10 mobile phone credit
American Express Aspire
This is one heavy hitting co-brand from Amex and comes with a $250 resort credit. Since many aren’t able to travel to resorts, and many resorts are closed, Amex has improved the benefit. Starting this month, you can use this $250 credit for restaurant…so not ending, but rather started in June and ends at the end of August.
- $250 resort credit can now be used at restaurants through August
Every single month Amex Gold has a dining credit of $10, this month is no different. I’ve had success in the past buying gift cards to use in the future, but the only catch is using them at valid places: Grubhub, Seamless, The Cheesecake Factory, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Boxed, and participating Shake Shack locations
- $10 at restaurants listed above
Don’t forget about our Amex referral contest where I’m going to put your links on my site for the month of August.
Referrals are how I make upwards of 500k points a year, but it’s also how I can help you out. Since I’m constantly trying to use points on my travel for the site, I cycle through my referrals first, and usually very quickly I max out. I then work my friends and family through the site, and finally, I start adding your links that you leave below. I leave them up for a few weeks and then cycle in another one.
