Rakuten has put a huge portion of their shopping portal at 15% cashback, or as I like to earn, 15x earn rate on Amex points. You may even find some at more then 20x!
From May 8th to 15th Rakuten is having their annual Big Week sale. I’m not exactly sure if each store will run 15x the entire week so it’d be worth checking the site or the app to see how things change each day. Also note, the app sometimes has different pricing than the site.

Overall
15x as a widespread promo is pretty darn good. If memory serves, we’ve seen Black Friday pop up to 20x in the past, but I believe those were covid times and it wasn’t on the majority of stores. It will definitely be worth taking a peek to see if some of the purchases you need in the future can be made at a higher rate of return. I’ll likely buy my Nike’s that I really like.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
