IHG has been hit with a deluge of negativity surrounding the devaluation of their credit card annual night certificate. Honestly, whether you get the old IHG card, or the new premium, IHG Premier, the annual night cert is well worth the annual fee. In fact, I put together a list of 30+ properties you can redeem the certs on that makes holding either of the cards absolute no brainers. This doesn’t even account for the the benefits…I digress. I only really brought it up because IHG Accelerate is a fun promo where you can earn 10s of 1000s of points. That’s a good thing. Bravo, IHG. You can now activate their new IHG Accelerate Promotion which runs May 1st until July 31st.
My IHG Accelerate is lukewarm. Albeit, it only has 3 items I need to check off, but requires 5 nights, which I doubt I’ll hit.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Annual fee is quite low at $95 a year + you get a 10% anniversary bonus on points + $50 hotel credit in Chase travel.
