Singapore Airlines extends expiring miles by another 6 months

Singapore Airlines miles typically expire 36 months after earning them. However, because of the pandemic, Singapore has gone through a series of extending the expiration date by 6 months. We’ve see this a couple times before, and they’ve just announced their final extension. If you have Singapore Miles expiring between January 2023 and June 2023, SQ will automatically extend the expiration by 6 months.

When does the extension occur?

I have almost 100k miles due to expire in January and Feb…they won’t show their new expiration date until the end of the expiry month.

Singapore Airlines created a nice little table seen below…note that the miles expire at the end of that month

Do I have to use the miles by the expiration date? Can I fly after that date?

Singapore Airlines stipulates that you just need to use the miles by that date, but you can book a ticket well after date as long as there is availability.

Can you extend the beyond this final 6 month extension?

It appears so…

If you have Singapore miles that are expiring…don’t fret my pet, you have a little more time to use them.

    Yeah!!!
Best Best Best news ever. I was trying to burn 250k SIN miles by end of Feb 23, but now I’ve got until end of August, which works great for me. My ’20 award flights were canceled due to Covid.
    Thank you for this news.

Thank you for the heads up. I also have miles expiring Feb/Mar so this helps a lot. I’ve really respected how SQ has handled this.
