I peeped this little tidbit of information on reddit churning. Looks like the Jan-March quarterly bonus categories will be Gas Stations, Internet/Cable/Phone, and Chase Pay/Android Pay, Apple Pay/Samsung Pay. If you have an Ink card ( Cash, Bold, Plus ) that earns 5x points on Internet/Cable/Phone this creates a redundancy, but overall I’m pretty pleased with it. Chase Pay is being accepted at more and more vendors, and when you through in Android, Apple, and Samsung, I think this creates a nice platter of vendors to earn your 5x points
Remember, this card is a cash back card and you must activate the category bonuses each quarter.
If you don’t activate you won’t earn the 5x points, and if you don’t have another Chase card that earns ultimate rewards, you’ll get cash back, but won’t be able to transfer them into partners.
5x points apply to the first $1500 you spend in a quarterly category – meaning you can earn up to 30k points a year just maxing out these bonus categories.
I got my first Freedom 3 years ago. In that time period, I’ve earned enough points to fly Lufthansa First Class without spending anything more than I normally would. Pretty, pretty suite 🙂
