Virgin Atlantic officially changed from an award charted program to a fully dynamic program for their own flights today. By fully dynamic, I mean that rates will fluctuate based on a multitude of factors that Virgin will formulate their award pricing algo around ( think route, load, origin, connections, destination, etc, etc ). All we really know is pricing is bound to be all over the map. I had feared the worse, but at least on their first day of pricing, it’s pretty incredible. Let’s take a look, but fares are as low as they’ve ever been on some routes, and then outrageous on others….especially in Upper Class.

If that wasn’t enough… the Reward Seat Checker now shows pricing across the calendar ( it used to only show how many seats were available ).

    Colour me surprised

Maybe I’m looking at different dates / routes, but some of the pricing I was seeing in premium cabins was insane for one ways (and maybe it’s because I was only looking one way?)

First thing this morning it was all old pricing. Then around 7.30am ET it updated.

Routes I looked at had pricing over 150k for the ATL-LHR route you mentioned for a Saturday in late July 2025 (and even at that level in March). Across the board, premium cabins were way higher, though some quirks where premium economy was priced higher than upper class. Premium economy was pricing over 60k on most dates I reviewed (vs 32.5k old).

Other routes were even higher. Random Saturday LHR – JNB pricing upper class of 225k in November, which is off season!
