A quick update…this issue was temporary and avail is back up!

Here’s a look at a 5 night stay…plenty of avail showing up again.

It appears the resort is also having a 20% members sale which knocks the price down to $1120 per night.

Original post:

I recently wrote a post about why I purchased 250k Hilton points during Daily Getaways. The long and short was it provided, along with a Hilton Aspire sign up, access to the brand new Waldorf Astoria Maldives. At the time, there was ample award space in July and August of this year, plus going out to the 2020 there was almost entire month’s worth of space avail. That has all changed, and I discovered it after trying to amend the reservation that I have and being unable to access it completely. I then tested the website to see about a new booking and discovered the glitch is not just for award bookings. Something is awry, as even cash bookings have been pulled from the Hilton site. Quite odd, but if you’re looking to use Hilton points at this resort, you’re going to have to wait.

There isn’t the first Waldorf Maldives glitch, a similar thing I believe happened last year, and it was an IT problem as space came back at 120k. So how long will we wait? Hopefully not long…the resort is scheduled to open July 1st, and if one were to try and make a booking ( even with cash ) the website won’t allow it.

What the space currently looks like for standard awards:

And then with cash:

Slide on over to the Conrad Maldives and there isn’t a problem.

No problems at all booking 6 night stays there.

My gut is telling me this will be resolved soon, or that the resort may end up delaying its opening for one reason or another and doesn’t want to continue to sell rooms until the issue is resolved. Either way…we’ll stay on top of it.
