Spotted by The Bulkhead Seat, Indianapolis will have a direct flight Europe again in May of 2025. The last time I can remember this happening was when Delta serviced a direct flight to Paris…that ended several years ago. As someone originally from Indianapolis, and who frequently visits family in Indy then over to England, especially over the holidays, I couldn’t be happier that Aer Lingus has announced that it will commence a direct flight into Dublin from Indianapolis in May of 2025.
Indianapolis (IND) gains transatlantic flights.
Aer Lingus will begin flying from Dublin (DUB) to Indianapolis (IND) with a 4x weekly A321neo (likely XLR) starting May 5, 2025:
• EI83 Depart DUB 2:50 PM Arrive IND 6:25 PM
• EI82 Depart IND 7:55 PM Arrive DUB 8:50 AM (+1 day) pic.twitter.com/V0zL83GVvS— Ishrion Aviation (@IshrionA) October 20, 2024
This will likely be the plane that flies… single aisle with thrones
Booking Aer Lingus with points
- Alaska
- 55k Alaska
- Avios
- 60k Avios
- United
- 88k Miles
Since Alaska and Hawaiian merged, and Amex transfers to Hawaiian, this may prove to be the best way to go about booking Aer LIngus for the time being. Alaska has business class to Europe at 45k miles if it’s under 3500 miles. Sadly, IND to DUB is a little over 3700 miles meaning it should clock in at 55k miles. Still a great deal in my opinion…but Alaska will price Chicago to Dublin at 45k, so it may end up that they will price IND to DUB at the same price.
Overall
For those living in the midwest, another direct flight, especially from a very nice smaller airport, is always welcomed!
