I recently wrote an article about my strategy to increase your chances of upgrading to business class on American’s A321T business class. I tried to use 500 mile upgrades to get from main cabin extra to lie flat business class… yeah didn’t work out so well.
Drum Roll…The strategy worked on the return and I ended up flying flat.
However, the flight lasted well over 9 hours because of delays and a medical emergency.
- These happen, and everything else about the flight was great so I wasn’t going to pen a complaint. People get sick and these concerns must be dealt with swiftly.
- It was also the best possible time for a delay cause I was BALLING in business. Champagne and movies please!!
But, I got this little nugget this morning. 5000 miles! What a great token of good will! BYAH BYAH
And it’s already posted. Kudos American – that is much appreciated!
I’ll write a review on my experience in the next couple weeks, but I wanted to publicize that the strategy worked and also the goodwill of 5000 miles that American extended to me. Thanks AA!
