Guess who landed a domestic 777-300ER upgrade with 500 mile upgrades.
THIS GUY!
I was really betting on a pipe dream…and YESSSSSIR it paid off.
I bought this ticket about 3 weeks ago and auto-requested upgrades when the cabin looked like this:
I thought I had a chance at my upgrade as all the white seats are available.I’m still just Platinum and going from hub to hub, but there were just sooooo many seats open I had a weeee little bit of hope. However, this is what it looked like the night before my flight when I checked in an was added to the airport upgrade list.
Did not look good, right?! I was even considering employing the strategy I’d used to get my Transcon A321T upgrade… but C inventory never showed up. So I thought I’d just risk it and let those 5 hundos do some WERK! And werk werk werk werk werk they did. Right when business had finished boarding I heard those blessed words: “passenger Miles the Monkey please come up to the counter and get your new baller seat. Thank you fine sir. WE love your blog and the champagne is on ice,” She probably said something else, but that’s what I heard.
Here’s how my 5-HUNDOS werked me straight into BIZ – good job hundos
BYAH BYAH BYAH!
The only downside, and I will write a report on this flight, is that the seat is inoperable. Ya, crappy. However, the flight attendant came by and said that they can manually move my seat, so that’s a plus. It’s a day flight and I don’t really need sleep so I’d probably be upright the whole flight anyways. All good, and plus waaaaay better than coach.
