POP: Picture Only Posts
Let’s be honest. Sometimes you don’t want to read a whole review. So we’ve created a new series called POP: Pictures Only Post. Posts in this series will feature the product, minimal description, and focus on 5-10 Pics. A more detailed review will come in the following week or two, but here’s a quick look at Finnair Business Class A330 from Helsinki to Chicago in August 2017.
Finnair has two seat products available for long haul business class. What you’ll find on their A350s and A330s.
The A350 has a great reverse herringbone setup in 1-2-1 that I’d love to try. The A330 offers a lie-flat business class that I’d read mixed reviews and flew on this route.
The A350
The A330
There are two different A330 versions. One with 7 rows and one with 10. They both feature the same seat.
Not all business class seats are created equal.
Each row varies from 2-2-1 to 1-2-1. Your experience can vary quite a bit depending on where in the cabin you sit, and which seat you ultimately choose in that location.
The Middle
Even numbered rows buffer the aisle on the left whereas odd numbered rows buffer to the right.
If you’re traveling as a couple, as we were, I’d go for the middle seats. Each passenger has aisle access and since there isn’t a buffer or screen between the seats it works well for those traveling together, but could be too exposed if traveling alone. You can see where the seat on the right ( left side of cabin) is open compared to the left seat ( right side of cabin)
There are also Throne Seats
By far the best seats for those who are traveling alone.
The Left
In front of the Throne you can see a pair of seats where the window seat is pinned in with no aisle access. By far the worst seats on the plane.
The right
All single seats which vary from being exposed to the aisle vs having a barrier. Great for those traveling alone if you can’t land a throne.
Amenity Kit.
Designed by Marimekko and featuing L’Occitane products for men, and Clarins for women.
The Food:
Service was done via cart and was quick, pleasant, and well executed. However, I didn’t really like anything I ate aside from the ice cream. Although, I looked around the cabin and most had finished their meals so perhaps I’m just picky.
The Bed:
Pillow and comforter were incredible. However, the overall length and dimensions are quite cramped. At 6′, 170lbs I found my shoulders rubbed the sides and my feet hit the end. Additionally I could hardly sleep on my side as my legs stacked too high for the foot slot.
