If you are available this Saturday, October 27th, you can have my two tickets to an incredible charity dinner hosted at the Andaz London Liverpool benefitting HUSK. I unfortunately can not attend the dinner as I’ll still be in the USA, but if you find yourself in town and would like to go – comment, or email us at Miles@monkeymiles.com, and we will put you and your +1 on the list in place of us.
HUSK is a not for profit, non government organisation working to improve the lives of families in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Siem Reap is home to one of the most incredible wonders of the world, the Temples of Angkor, and a country rich in traditions and culture that intertwine with the temples still today. More than the amazing temples though, Siem Reap is home to a warm and friendly people that smile, despite the troubles of the not so distant past and the challenges faced by nearly every family today. Cambodia has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the region with one in seven children dying before the age of five. Many of these deaths are due to preventable illness and waterborne disease. Malnutrition, lack of education and accidental death (drowning and road accidents) are major issues that Cambodia’s children face.
HUSK works with communities to help improve the lives of Cambodian families. Their goals focus around the basics of providing access to safe water, livelihood opportunities, health, education and environment.
