According to the Seattle Times, Alaska Airlines and Aer Lingus will soon be partners, and even better, you’ll soon be able to redeem Alaska miles on Aer Lingus flights. It’s been a rumor for a little while as Aer Lingus had announced plans to service Seattle from is hub in Dublin. Flights will commence May 18th with 4 nonstop flight a week until the winter where they’ll reduce service to just three flights. Until June 15th, Aer Lingus is offering an introductory fare of $595.
One great feature of flying out of Dublin is their pre-clearance facility. Alaska CEO, Stephen Kavanaugh, had the following to say, “Our guests will arrive in Seattle already pre-cleared, equivalent to domestic passengers.” He went on to comment about the frequent flier programs offering the ability to redeem on eachothers airlines, “…that means Aer Lingus and Alaska frequent-flyer miles will be usable across the two airlines and Seattle connections can be booked along with the Dublin flight.”
Here’s a snap shot of Aer Lingus lie flat business class product that offers lie-flat business class, and thrones 🙂 Another great feature of fly in and out of Dublin is VERY low taxes and fees.
