The aircraft will be a new 3 cabin plane featuring economy, premium economy and business class. This will be the first plane in American’s fleet that will feature a true premium economy product. We loooooooved the Etihad 787
The 787-9 is a longer cabin than that of the 787-8 and therefore can hold more passengers.
The 787 reduces jetlag by pressurizing the cabin to below 6000 ft. Jetlag usually starts to affect people around 6500ft and the typical cabin is pressurized at 8000 feet. The aim of planes like this is to help people reduce the effects of jetlag by giving passengers more oxygen, and therefore helping with jetlag.
The other features of the 787 that you will notice if you’ve never flown one is the elimination of window shades. Personally, I can’t sleep without complete darkness, but the thought process behind this is that it helps with natural sleep rhythms. Cabins are also lit with LED lights which allow the cabin to be more naturally.
