10k bonus points for Amex extended pay finally offered

Logged into my Amex account today to check and see what offers were being made available to me, and was surprised at what mine eye saw! The 10k bonus points for Amex extended pay option FINALLY was offered to me. I had been checking and checking, and even called in to see if I would qualify ( I didn’t ). The only thing I love more than points are FREE points and that’s exactly what this is

10k bonus points for Amex extended pay

Extended payment option

10k bonus points for Amex extended pay

What’s great is that you don’t HAVE to pay over time, but you receive 10k bonus points to have the option. Win Win

This offer was for my original Amex Business Plat and not my new one which makes this deal even sweeter. I’ll be canceling this card as I don’t need two Amex Biz Plats and will have received 10k bonus points prior to doing so. Great way to start this week. ICYMI I was targeted to upgrade my Amex Biz Gold to Plat for 50k points

Enrolling was easy and I’ll keep you guys updated as to when the points load into my account

We keep an up to date spreadsheet that lists the best ever offers: You can find that spreadsheet here.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.

Main Cast:

Cards that earn flexible points and should be used on the bulk of your purchases.

Supporting Cast:

Cards that earn fixed points in the currency of the airline/hotel and can not be transferred at attractive rates. These cards yield benefits that make it worth keeping, but not necessarily worth putting a lot of your everyday spend on.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® is exceptional starter card and offers transferrable Ultimate Rewards, and pairs well with other Chase cards.

If you carry this card alongside Chase’s cashback cards like the Chase Freedom Flex®  and Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the business versions: Ink Business Cash® , Ink Business Unlimited® you can combine the points into Preferred account and transfer into hotel and airline partners

Just to be clear, is there any risk in this whatsoever? Like, if I sign up is there some point when I need to later decline or cancel the “extended pay” option? Thanks for posting!

Hey Jeff – I’ve signed up for this offer with other amex charge cards, and I would always urge you to read the terms and conditions, but the only risk I’ve seen is if you don’t pay the amounts in full you will incur interest charges. As long as you pay your card in full, and treat it the same as if it were a charge card, you shouldn’t see any changes other than an extra 10k in your account. There isn’t a charge to enroll, but rather provides an opportunity to pay bills over time, akin to a regular credit card. Your late fees, interest, etc will all change tho so make sure you understand those, but if you’re paying in full you’ll never know the difference.
