2018 brings about a better Amex to Hilton Honors transfer ratio
Better transfer ratios can never be a bad things, and Amex has increased their Hilton transfer from 1:1.5 to 1:2. But, is this a ratio that you should actively be using your hard earned Amex Membership Rewards for on a regular basis? It’s not what I would recommend. 2 Hilton Honors points are undoubtedly worth less than $0.02. In fact, I’d argue that a penny a point for Hilton is a very good redemption value, but a middle of the road redemption for Amex. Does this mean you should never transfer them over? No, if you’re close to a redemption and you don’t want to the buy the Hilton points, go for it. But it’s not the same “no brainer” as transferring to Aeroplan or Singapore for a premium cabin flight.
