Looks like a targeted transfer bonus is in effect for some Amex cardholders to Marriott. Typically this is a 1:1 transfer so this will give you 1300 for every 1000 you transfer. If you’re looking at true aspirational properties like Gritti Palace in Venice or St Regis Maldives…it wouldn’t be the worst case scenario. These hotels often exceed a $1k per night, and when using points, you get a 5th night free. That means hypothetically, you could score 5 nights at the St Regis Maldives for 280k points, or 216k Amex points. At a $1k a night, you’d be redeeming at over 2 cents a point, which honestly isn’t the best, but it ain’t bad.
