Up to 6x points on gas with targeted Amex Offer
I was perusing my Amex Offers this morning when I came across a great targeted offer for gas purchases…get 2 additional Membership Rewards on elibile purchases between now and September 10th, 2019. Currently, I don’t have an Amex Business Gold, but my dad carries one. I logged into his account, and sure enough, his card was targeted too. This means, if you selected gas as one of your 4x bonus categories, you could earn up to 6x points on gas purchases for the next few months. An outstanding deal. Check out the restrictions as it seems this is explicitly valid on fuel purchases, so no gift cards, etc, but still…a fantastic earn rate if you carry an Amex Business Gold.

Why did I single out the Amex Business Gold?
As you can see below…you can select 2 categories to earn 4x points, up to $150k per year, and gas stations are one of them. I had a feeling that Amex Biz Gold cards may not be targeted, but this wasn’t the case as I saw first hand it was targeted to an Amex Biz Gold account that had gas selected as a bonus category.

Historically 80k is a very, very good offer and hit in both 2022 and 2023. In 2021, we saw the offer hit an all time high of 100k. Who knows if that will ever come back.
