Overall

Great deal. I have Hertz President’s circle via the Capital One Venture X and Amex Platinum so I’d prioritize renting from Hertz, but this is a solid deal that could earn a nice amount of money back!

This card covers its own cost when you take advantage of all the benefits! Plus, why not score up to 100,000 points after meeting the minimum spend?! Apply using your browser’s Incognito or private mode to try to score the highest offer! There’s no harm to your credit for checking the sign up bonus, and if you don’t like it, just try again!

The Gold card is currently offering a 60,000 sign up bonus after $6,000 spent in 6 months.

I find the gold card to be most useful for food purchases, earning 4x points at restaurants and grocery stores while the platinum card is better for airline purchases and some hotels (as long as the hotels are booked in the American Express portal) earning 5x points. You can recover almost all of the annual fee for the gold card $240 of the $250 if you take advantage of the monthly credits from food delivery and Uber. I like to accumulate additional Amex points by using shopping portals like Rakuten.

  • Brian May 9, 2023

How do you activate this offer? I don’t see it in my “offers” section.

BTW – love your content keep it up.
